Play Poker and Support Foster Kids
After a two-year hiatus, Skookum’s annual charity poker tournament returns on May 13 (in Bellingham) and May 14 (in Ellensburg). You can register for either (or both!) event(s) right now.
Better-than-ever in Bellingham
At our last event, we packed out the K-2 location of Kulshan brewing, and it was an absolute blast. This year we stepped up to a much larger venue, the Bellingham Yacht Club, which boasts floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the marina and Bellingham Bay. With the sun setting just as we get underway, it should be a tournament to remember.
This will be the same fun-but-smartly-run tournament that you’ve come to expect with professional dealers and warm, welcoming players all out to have a good time and do some good for kids along the way. If you’re completely new to the game, we have a beginner’s table just for you where dealers with lots of patience can teach as you play. If you’re a more confident Texas Hold ‘Em player, you have a chance to compete for the grand prize, an all-expenses paid round trip to Vegas!
Standard entry is $100 and includes tournament entry and a drink ticket, but for an additional $50 you can get a VIP upgrade that will give you 50% more starting chips and a second drink ticket.
Ellensburg joins the party
Since we last played, Skookum has grown in its geographical reach. Now that we’re caring for kids from across Central Washington, we thought a second date/location would be appropriate. So, on Saturday May 14, we’ll run it back at the Canyon River Ranch. All the event details, ticket pricing, and prizes are the same, though we’ll get started a little earlier in the evening.
Thanks to our sponsors
This event, and others like it, are only possible thanks to our generous business sponsors who underwrite the cost of events ensuring that more of your donations & tickets benefit children in foster care.
Huge thanks to Thrivent & Hempler’s Meats who are leading the way with our event in Bellingham, and to Burrows Tractor who is leading in Ellensburg.
Reserve your seat today!
We have a limited number of seats at both of these events, and need players to register in advance (so we have the right number of tables & dealers prepared). Reserve yours today.
And Bring Friends
Poker is better played with lots of friends. So while you’re at it, invite all your poker-playing buddies to join in. We’d love to see all the house games from across our community take a break for the week and join up to play in support of children in foster care.
